Cheerful Sky It is also apparent that in the beginning he is acting a lot more childish, starting arguments with Goofy & Donald over little things and so on, even denying to be happy having relocated them later on (namely while in Deep Jungle). This changes later on, though, as he has to face harder and harder tasks. Finally, in KH2, he is even more of an adult than before - yet not losing his childlike lightheartedness at the same time. Thus, it can be stated that although he grows through sadness and loss, he can preserve a lot of his original personality, which will keep him a bright, sanguine person that's generally fun to be around. Furthermore, he also has the gift of giving a lot of his happiness to others, maybe even making them better persons. The best example of this, for me, is Riku - for even though Riku has 'betrayed' him and their friendship, believing Maleficent's conniving talks more than his long-term friend and giving in to his doubts about Sora, concentrating solely on their rivalry while holding himself to higher standards, Sora would still forgive him in the end and show him the same trust and confidence he always did, ignoring all that has happened in the past. Therefore, one of his main characteristics would be forgiveness and the ability to forgive. "Sora: I never thought for a second that I'd ever see YOU again. Just thinking about all the things you did makes me really mad. But... but you saved Kairi, right? I have to be grateful for that... Thanks." Although Sora does not recognize Riku at first when having Xehanort's appearance, he still thanks him for saving Kairi ALTHOUGH he thinks he's his enemy at that point... thus, it really shows his good nature, I feel. Now, doesn't it? He can even admit that somebody has done something 'right' whom he doesn't like and doesn't think of being a nice person usually. Of course, Riku is making a big sacrifice in saving Sora and the others from the darkness by closing the Kingdom Hearts with their help, but I still think that it is by no means a matter of course to forgive Riku in that case. But, that's only my personal opinion of course. Albeit all this nice character traits, Sora is still not the humblest person of all. Some examples of this include him kind of wanting to be king of the Pride Lands (not necessarily for the sake of being king itself, but rather for the honor of being fit to be just that) as well as some other things I currently don't appear to remember. However, those aren't deathly distinct and thus not at all making him a bad person (in my perception, at least). A little egoism is in all of us, after all, and without it he would be a highly unrealistic character (which he is nonetheless, but). -------------------------------- (CC) BY-NC-SA Image from Same Sky PHP from Celestial Star JavaScript from Dynamic Drive CSS from Cascading Style Sheets Kingdom Hearts by Square Enix & Disney Please don't steal or copy, OK? |
