Cheerful Sky
|| love...?

Honestly, I don't really like doing those 'love interest' sections (and am not good at them either)... nonetheless, here you go with my thoughts on the topic:

Kairi: Most likely the relationship that has some subliminal truth/intendedness to it. Albeit they don't have an 'official' relationship or any of the both ever admits to hold deeper feelings for the other, there are several hints on that being quite canon (not in the case of having bullet-proof evidence, but rather for the suspicion that this is the pairing intended by the creators).

"Kairi: Don't ever forget. Wherever you go, I'm always with you."

Like I said, not because the hints make for definite proof (as they don't), but for the way they are dropped and the fact that it's actually a children's game (or so it says); plus the way it's dealt with this theme in LOTS of other japanese publications such as anime, manga etc. (due to japanese culture being far more shy about things like this and japanese couples are actually not so easily spotted in public because probably they would hold hands at most), one may assume it is just so. It is not clear whether Kairi returns Sora's feelings, but as for him, I'm pretty sure she is the only one for whom he could have more interest than just friendship.

"Roxas: Kairi... I know you. You're that girl he likes."

The majority of scenes in which you could guess that there' more between them than friendship - at least from Sora's point of view - could be ticked off as trivial at the same time. One example would be him imagining his dance with Kairi in Beast's Castle. Apparently, dancing should be somewhat romantic (or at least that's the idea behind it), and Beast & Belle definitely love each other (and they're the ones who are dancing), so it makes quite a good hint - but at the same time, persons one could (want to) dance with aren't at all limited to lovers, so... no cast iron proof after all.

The most obvious one in my opinion is that sentence Roxas utters when first meeting Kairi, which is quoted above. That said, that's the only pairing of which I would actually say it's a rather 'realistic' and not a completely off-character one... but alas, that doesn't matter anyway. I'm not a 'shipper' though, because I barely care for romance and for me, they're just kids after all (by the way, another argument for them not really acting out their feelings [yet?], as they might be just shy or something). And, I don't like romance.

Riku: I can imagine that this is a popular one among fan(girl)s... although I can't see any reference(s) to it in the storyline, of course. But maybe I just don't want to see anything. Anyway; for me, they are nothing more than 'just' friends. Of course they like and trust each other a lot, which is really great, but I couldn't imagine them being together - it would just spoil their perfect relationship anyway. That aside, I do think friendship makes an ideal basis for love though...

Naminé: I've heard of this once in a while, yet I can't really see it. It might be because I haven't played Chain of Memories, but at least in Kingdom Hearts 2 there's so little interaction between them I just can't imagine it happening. The only thing possible from this little contact would be some hormonal attraction, I think, and that's not love (and no base for a relationship or genuine love of whatever kind). People might just get the idea because she's Kairi's nobody and thus resembles her in a way... maybe?

Roxas: Well, this could be getting quite hard (and is obviously not really meant seriously) regarding that it's difficult to have a relationship with oneself... although isn't loving oneself the perfect relationship (and if not, it's at least the ebst foundation for having one with someone else)...?
